Babygrande Signs Atlanta's Drako, Premieres First Single "Watch Me Do It"
Drako, the rising 24 year-old Atlanta artist, grew up in a household where drug and alcohol abuse permeated all aspects of his existence. From a young age, Drako was in-and-out of juvenile detention, as he became involved in drug dealing and robberies in order to support his siblings. In order to escape the hardships of life, music became Drako’s therapy, and he moved around his neighborhood rapping for any audience he could find. He was recruited to join a group called 138, and through his experiences with the group, he knew that he wanted to rap professionally. It wasn’t long before Drako went solo, capitalizing on his talent by dropping a mixtape every week. His persistence earned the attention of local radio and club DJs around Atlanta. However in order to maintain his musical output and support his family, Drako continued to hustle and commit robberies which led to a massive roadblock in his career. Drako was arrested and spent over a decade in and out of prison.
Released from prison in 2015, Drako moved to West Atlanta and once again focused on music. Word spread fast and through a network of friends and fans Drako’s music hit the radar of the 15 year-old seminal record label, Babygrande Records. Babygrande tracked Drako’s recordings for almost a year, and as a final test of Drako’s skill the label invited him to share a SXSW stage with Ugly God, Peewee Longway and others. No one in the Texas audience had ever heard of him or his music, but by the second song, Drako had The Mohawk venue TURNT UP!
Realizing Drako’s presence was undeniable, Babygrande signed him on the spot. In 2017, Drako and Babygrande plan to unleash multiple singles and videos, the first of which is the Yoksta (Future, Ralo, OJ Da Juiceman) produced banger “Watch Me Do It.”

ABOUT TRADEMARK DA SKYDIVER
Trademark Da Skydiver was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. He was introduced to hip-hop when he was eight years old by an older cousin who brought back a variety of music from his travels in the Navy. His cousin exposed him to all types of hip-hop including the Wu-Tang Clan. Two of Trademark’s childhood friends were the rappers Curren$y and Young Roddy. Early on in his career, a mutual friend brought Trademark into a studio session and Curren$y was there. Curren$y got him to appear on a friend’s mixtape and from there, they both realized that their styles meshed well and continued to work in tandem on a variety of projects. Soon after that studio day, they formed Jet Life.
Jet Life grew to include (at different points) Trademark Da Skydiver, Curren$y, Young Roddy, Corner Boy P, T.Y., Fiend, Street Wiz, Marygold, and producers Monsta Beatz. Trademark played a prominent role in the conception and execution of Jet Life’s Jet World Order series which were both released via Jet Life’s partnership with iHipHop Distribution. Throughout the years, Trademark has become renowned for his Super Villain album series alongside his two albums released under his alter-ego Flamingo Barnes. Following a nationwide tour on the Smokers Club, Trademark Da Skydiver released his latest solo album Return of the Super Villain to acclaim in December 2014. In 2016, Trademark joined Young Roddy on the collaborative album Family Business which featured Kevin Gates, Cozz, Smoke DZA, Mick Jenkins, and more.
ABOUT YOUNG RODDY
A New Orleans native, Roddy was an avid basketball player and aspired to play professionally. After Hurricane Katrina, Roddy remained in his hometown though his mother left for Texas. Roddy began to freestyle in ciphers with his friends, but he never looked at rapping as a serious profession. However Roddy’s friends were impressed by his skills, and encouraged him to continue to pursue music. Roddy was eventually goaded into visiting a studio when his cousin told him that Young Money’s artists would be recording in the same space. Roddy would go on to meet Curren$y at that time. After hearing Roddy freestyle, Curren$y asked Roddy to join a new group that he was assembling and the two began to collaborate. Since then, Roddy has released a slew of projects including his Good Sense mixtape series and he has worked wi**th everyone from Styles P to Juvenile. He released his debut album The Kenner Loop in December 2015 via GOOD$ENSE / iHipHop Distribution, and followed up in 2016 with his collaborative album Family Business alongside Trademark Da Skydiver
